Thanksgiving Holiday Hours
We will be closed on Thursday November 27th.  Join us on Friday and Saturday from 10:00-1:00 for an hour or more of open studio.  The cost is $15/hour per child and $10 /hour for each additional sibling.

Afternoon Class Schedule Change:
Look for a great activity for your kids 4-9 years old on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon from 4:00-5:00pm?  Drop-in  or sign up for the whole session with Sue for either class through December 24th.  The cost is $15/ child and $10/ each additional sibling. 

Week of November 17th - November 22nd

Get ready for Thanksgiving.  Some of the suggested projects are decopague centerpiece, corn cob collage, potato turkeys, teepees, and more.  Artists are always welcome and encouraged to join in on a class which start at 9:30 or 11:00am.  Our Saturday hours are open studio from 9:30-11:30 so come for an hour or more.  Drop-ins are $15/ child and $10 each additional sibling.
 
Dinner & Art - November 14th 5:00-7:30pm

Drop off your kids to enjoy dinner and art while you enjoy dinner in one of the local restaurants or just some piece and quiet.   The cost is $25 per child and $15 for each additional sibling.  Regristration required.   

Smudge Regular

Please welcome Sue Hammerland of Cousins Island, Maine to the Smudge studio.  Sue is a painter and person who "likes to make things."  She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Sue attended Virgnia for undergrad and graduate school in Art History and Studio Art.  She has taught classes through the Yarmouth Community Services, and as a volunteer at her children's schools.  You can find out more about Sue by visiting her website Sue_Land.com.

Special Events & Parties

Birthday Parties at Smudge

Price Change:  Effective January 1, 2009 the cost of a birthday party will increase from $150 to $200 for 10 kids but guest number 11 and up will remain $15 each. 

Host your next birthday party or plan a special gathering of your kids friends at Smudge.  Parties run 1
½
hours and include an hour in the studio and a half hour for refreshments (not provided) and/or gift opening.

 Parties are available on Saturdays from 12:00-1:30, 2:00-3:30 and 4:00-5:30 but we can accomodate other times.  The basic cost, through December 31st, is $150 which includes all art for up to 10 kids and $15 for each additional guest 2 years and older.  We can customize your party around one central theme (for example princess, firetrucks, boats, tree frogs, or ocean theme) with 6 or 7 stations that the children can explore freely.  Of the 6 or 7 stations we typically have two stations already set: the spray wall representing the choosen theme, and a tactile station with playdough, clay, or slime.  Additionally we can create a large paper mache project for the theme, such as a castle, firetruck, sailboat, octopus, tree frog, or horse which the children can all decorate together on the floor.  The paper mache project is between 2 and 4 feet long.  We can also customize party favors for an additional fee. Call or email today to ensure your party can be at Smudge.  We are accepting party dates through February at this time.  

 

 

 



Dinner and Art

Dinner and Art are typically held on the second and fourth Fridays of each month(assuming it is not a Holiday). We provide Dinner & Art from 5:00-7:30 for all artists 2-9 years old so parents can enjoy one of the many fine dining options in Freeport and Yarmouth or just a quite evening after a busy school/work week.  The theme changes each week but never the fun.  Parents are not required to stay but are always welcome.  The dinners we have offered in the past are pizza, spaghetti, Mac & Cheese along with a fruit, apple juice/water, and a small dessert like a Fruit Snack.  (We will tailor or choose a menu to accomodate any food allergies.)  The cost is $25 per child and $15 for each additional sibling.     

Please stop by, call, or email us to register for a special event.  Remember payment is due the night of the event and we only accept cash or check.  Below are some of the dates planned.  (The event will be canceled if less than 3 artists are registered)
